Blocked or saturated filters are the most common cause of poor paint finish quality in industrial spray operations. When exhaust filters become loaded with paint, back pressure increases, air velocity across the spray zone drops and solvent vapour lingers — leading to runs, dry spray and uneven film build. Inlet filter neglect allows dust and fibres into the booth, causing inclusions in the cured film.
As a general guideline, exhaust filters should be inspected every 50–80 operating hours and replaced before pressure drop across the filter exceeds the manufacturer's specification. Inlet filters typically require replacement every 200–400 hours depending on ambient conditions. Autocoat Engineering recommends scheduling filter changes as part of a planned preventive maintenance programme rather than waiting for visible signs of failure.
We supply replacement filters for all our booth models and can also source filters for third-party booths. Contact us with your booth model and filter dimensions for a prompt quotation.
